Welcome to the Jefferson County Medical Society


The Jefferson County Medical Society was founded in 1877 as the local medical society for physicians in the Birmingham area. Since that time it has grown to include as members over 2,500 physicians, residents and medical students. Our members practice in all specialties and serve on the staffs of every hospital in the area. The JCMS staff operates a free physician referral service as a benefit to the community.
